Good but not perfect!
Reviewed by familyof6 on 8/27/2010
The house is lovely and was located in a good area that's not too far from the main road. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to make our meals. The views were breathtaking and the outdoor patio area is also nice to enjoy meals and the view! It's big enough for a large family. It was easy to check in and out. Our needs were addressed promptly by the Pullen Realty. The few problems we had with it is: 1.The cleanliness (carpet, sofas) and safety for families with small kids (1-7). The carpet and the kitchen rug was extremely dirty (we had to roll the up rug and put it in the laundry). The carpet was not vacuumed for quite some time under the trundle bed, and there was a lot of dust on the window sills directly above the loft beds (not good for asthma sufferers like my son). 2. The blinds don't block out the sunlight at all, so there's no way to sleep in past 6 am in summer; and made it extremely difficult to get enough rest. 3. The beds were not comfortable. 4. The planks that were used for a bookshelf in the loft are dangerous when there are small kids around. 5. A toddler can easily slip through the wide spaced wrought iron railing and needs to be constantly supervised when upstairs in the loft area. The safety and cleaniliness issues are easy to fix and if addressed will make this house extremely comfortable for a family with children! Thank you for the stay! We loved the photo in the wet area!
Manager's Response:
Thank you for your review! We will be sure to bring these items to the cleaning teams attention right away. We will suggest to the owners that perhaps they can address the blinds as well as the loft area in order to make this space more child friendly. We are glad that you enjoyed the home. Amazing views, great sun, the perfect house for a large group!

We were lucky and had no snow/road troubles at all. The location was very high up and therefore had gorgeous views and lots of sun. Everything in the house worked perfectly, and we had a big group which it was perfect for...plenty of room to sleep lots of people. We made group dinners and breakfasts every day and had no problems with the kitchen, living, or dining space. The parking was great also, plenty of room for as many as 6 cars. I would definitely try to rent this same location again!
Nice views and hot tub
Reviewed by skifamily on 3/18/2010
The house had a nice view and good location, but the kitchen was grimy and small and did not have nice supplies (eg. no serrated knives). We (especially our kids) were really upset that the DVD player was broken and the realty group did not reimburse us or compensate us for the hassle. The blinds on the big windows did not work either so we could not enjoy the views from the top floor. That was annoying.
Cozy
Reviewed by mandameyerson on 2/4/2010
Our families had such a wonderful time at Lyon's Den. The two three-year- olds had a winter wonderland in the backyard and one of the little ones even enjoyed the hot tub! Very cozy inside with the fireplace. Only thing that would have been nice is a toy or two for the little ones to play with. New toys always keep them busy for hours! We would definitely stay here again!
Nice place
Reviewed by ellie b on 12/16/2009
Hi-We stayed at the Lyons den during the winter of last year. It was a nice comfortable place to stay. There is a loft upstairs in front of the bedroom that made a nice place for the kids to camp out and a hot tub outside, very comfortable with a nice view(my favorite). The living room was cozy with a little firebox, we're a tight knit group so it worked out but it would be difficult to have someone sleep in the living room. There were a couple of things that needed fixing, the oven wasn't working and some lighting, but Pullen was quick to respond. Access up the hills were challenging, make sure to put chains on regardless of what kind of tires you have, we had a few cars get stuck even with snow tires. The driveway into the house was well plowed in the mornings. There was a good supply of pots/pans etc. for cooking. Its a very beautiful area once you get up the hill. Pullen was very nice and easy to work with.
The place has it all!

We received great service while we stayed at Lyon's Den. The home was clean, and had a very nice layout for our group of family and friends. We loved the sledding opportunities, the decently close proximity to the cross-country center, and the hot tub! The view was also marvelous. Plus it had an excellent kitchen and large dining table. The only thing it lacked was furniture (one couch, one chair) Bring a couple camping lounge chairs if you go. This is the kind of place I can see going back to again and again.
