the condo was nicely remodeled. location-great, rec center access-a
bonus, shuttle service-easy. and we really enjoyed our stay. we would even
probably stay again. however, as some of the prior reviewers stated, there
were a few issues that made for an inconvenient experience and that
*really* need to be addressed to allow for a comfortable stay.
*HEATING*
the explanation to use the radiant heating is not adequate. the instruction
was to push the "sun" button upon arrival and the "suitcase" upon
departure. however, it did not result in the floors being heated. only after
we jacked up the thermostat to past 75-80, did the radiant heating turn on.
but it took a couple days to really figure it out.
even worse, while there are separate thermostats downstairs in the 2
bathrooms, they only control the radiant heating and do NOT control the
heat. it was FRIGID downstairs because the thermostat that controls the
heat for the whole house was upstairs. of course heat rises, and with the
fireplace/heat, if it was perfect and comfortable upstairs the heat would
never come on downstairs. the only way we could make the heat come on
downstairs would be to open the windows upstairs and make it cold
upstairs. for most of our stay, we all slept upstairs because there was no
way to remedy the situation.
if there is a solution, it should be very clearly outlined in the condo booklet,
because we are all professionals with advanced degrees, and we were
unable to find a way to make the heat stay on downstairs. or perhaps a
simple solution: provide electric heaters for the downstairs bedrooms.
*HOUSEKEEPING*
we also found a lot of stains on the linens. not only on pillows/sheets, but
towels as well. there was also dried jam/ketchup spots on the dining table
and other stickiness on the coffee table/end tables. they had clearly not
wiped anything down. we also caught over a dozen spiders. not that we
minded spiders-but i note because of the manager's response to a prior
review.

It is a known fact that bugs live in Tahoe. Pest control is an ongoing service in the Tahoe area. Homeowners know that a pest control maintanence plan is perfect in controling the "bugs."
